Donation Information

Tue, 2009-04-21 18:30 by chaleur · Forum/category:

I would like to make a donation using my employer's matching program. I am poking about on the donations page, and it does not seem to contain all the information I need to give my employer. Specifically, they need your EIN (Employer Identification Number) so that your charitable tax status can be verified. Is there any way I could get this information?

And this may not be the right place to ask this, but I couldn't find anywhere that looked remotely appropriate, so consider that a constructive suggestion for your site :).

Let me jump right in...

... and say that we'd hate to see a kind and potential donor repelled by bureaucracy. Chaleur (if I may call you that here -- guess you know what I found when I Googled -- interesting!), I suggest we continue the conversation via email so we don't leave key numbers lying around in cyberspace. Could I trouble you to send me a note at hcroze©

Many thanks for your interest and patience; I'm sure our trusty webmaster will take note of your experience.

Best regards, Harvey

Yes, I think it's probably a good idea to put the EIN in the "Support elephants" article and perhaps also, if possible, on the Click&Pledge form. I can try to do that as soon as I have that number.

Chaleur, thanks for this important hint. Donations are urgently needed to keep things going.

By the way, everybody can send email to each user by using his contact form here, unless the user has disallowed that function. For example, to send mail to chaleur or hcroze, click on the name (at the top of every article or comment authored by that person), then choose the "Contact" tab. That way the email address is not revealed. (Harvey, I have obfuscated your email address in your comment to hide it from the harvesters.)

Hans, the webmaster
