Mystery Map: elephant occupancy in the ecosystem

Can anyone help us with the origin and metadata for the attached nameless, dateless, designation-less map? Cynthia Moss unearthed it not long ago and handed it to me to follow up. The attachment is a reduced copy of the the A-3 copy original. Intriguingly, it seems to have stats on seasonal occupancy of eles outside the park. It would appear to be based on Maasai Scout observations. It seems to be page 40 of a document. We would love the reference and permission to quote it.

Please pass this on to someone you think might know about it, or even be the source.

Cynthia Moss and I just had tea with Dr. Hamisi Mutinda, who is one of the contributors to the book we are editing for the University of Chicago Press, Amboseli Elephants: A Long Term Perspective on a Long-lived Mammal (working title). Hamisi confirms the map is his. He compiled it from elephant sightings and signs data collected from Maasai scounts. It was to be included in his PhD thesis, Non-invasive assessment of reproductive status in free-ranging female African elephants (1994). For some reason the map wasn't included in the final version (it's A3 format, which might complicate reproduction in a bound thesis). Anyway, we are now discussing including it in the book.
